Pieces

People, your most trusted ones, I learned, are like treasure chests you encounter as you go along your adventure (RPG PS2 style if you will). Consciously or unconsciously, you leave some of your treasures as you encounter them, open them, and eventually part ways. When you return to the path you last saw them, you are shown once again the important pieces of yourself which you left in their safekeeping. At times, as sad as it may be, these pieces may have already been relegated to the status of "once an integral part of who you were", like the old pieces of armor you once donned to beat that Boss at the Hidden Dungeon in your backyard.

Since 2016 started, I was visited quite frequently by these pieces of myself - mostly encounters I never would have expected. These pieces which I've entrusted to good friends reminded me of who this ever-myopic person really is. Some of the pieces I took for granted and left unconsciously. It turns out, these were the most appreciated discoveries/re-discoveries.

Must tell you how much I have changed and how fast I'm changing. At least, this gives me an overview of what this year will be like, right?

Anyway, the only reason why I'm writing this is to thank all these people for showing me who I was, for making me understand better who I am, and for helping me tell the story of who I will be.

You guys are the best. Thank you.
